Inktober Day 21 – Gilbert Gottfried

My wife can’t understand why I like #GilbertGottfried so much. It mostly stems from this one time I saw him on #HollywoodSquares where he just killed it for a half-hour straight. Now I am a regular listener to #GilbertGottfriedsAmazingCollossalPodcast which is mostly his co-host #FrankSantopadre interviewing film and tv actors for the 50s, 60s and 70s while Gilbert tells terrible jokes. It is highly entertaining.

Inktober Day 19 – The Dalai Llama

Inktober Day 19 – The Dalai Llama published on No Comments on Inktober Day 19 – The Dalai Llama

My good friend John Fishwick was into Tai Chi back in the early 1990s. He was from Bolton and had moved down to Basingstoke to work for IBM. He invited me to go see the Dalai Llama speak in London. It was the last in a series of three lectures The Dalai Llama was giving up at Wembley Arena. It was all about Nirvana, and how that is, in fact, a state of pure nothingness. It was interesting, but I couldn’t really understand it after a while, and I couldn’t help nodding off. I woke up for the Q&A, possible now under the Dailai Llama’s hypnotic spell. I don’t remember much of it now, but I left feeling uplifted and charmed by the man, and will always be grateful for the experience of having been to listen to him.

Anyway, I’m sure that sort of thing can’t be good for America.

Inktober Day 18 – Oliver Cromwell

Inktober Day 18 – Oliver Cromwell published on No Comments on Inktober Day 18 – Oliver Cromwell

Yes, since winning the English Cilvil War (1642-1651) Oliver Cromwell has indeed been destroying America with his puritans ways. After the war King Charles I was beheaded, and the country was ruled by the Parliament for 12 years, lead by Oliver Cromwell. When he died, he was so unpopular that Charles 2 was brought back from exile in Europe, and England ended up with the monarchy it has today.

The Puritans were the world’s fist minimalists, oblitterating all manner of beautiful, but pagan-seeming, medieval art for the churches, of which only tantalizing glimpses remain. These scenes show last judgements and demons and Devils of all kinds to delight the modern cartoonist.

After Cromwell’s death, everyone was sick of puritans, so they were pretty much hounded out of the country, so they left to set up shop over here in the USA. Well, each to their own, I say, but my general feeling is that puritans don’t like cartoons.

Ya gotta catch ‘em all! Really? Ya gotta catch ALL of them? Then what? Eh, buddy… THEN what are you going to do?!?

I just realized that it looks like he pooped. That was supposed to just be a smoldering building he had accidentally destroyed, but I guess it amounts to the same thing. You can read these things however you want, I guess.

Inktober Day 13 – Evil Clowns

Inktober Day 13 – Evil Clowns published on No Comments on Inktober Day 13 – Evil Clowns

Why are so many Americans afraid of clowns? There are many much more scary things out there, such as terrorists. However, drawing terrorists is highly problematic so I drew a clown instead. Apparently it’s OK to hate clowns. As a result, they are becoming a national menace.

Inktober Day 12 – Colin Kaepernick

Colin Kaepernick is destroying America by standing up for what he believes in. Or rather that’s exactly what he is NOT doing. It’s very confusing. La La La – I don’t want to hear it.
